
Soapmaking with JL Soaps
Materials provided: Composition notebook for notes, gloves, apron, sense of humor, and supplies for each activity. Each participate will take home the following: oil infusion, notes, and soap.
1. Identifying Oil Properties (hard and soft oils to determine what properties participant would like for home soap) Would like your soap to be bubbly, creamy, soothing, or just plain and simple soap?)
2. Create A Wildflower/Herb Oil Infusion For Making Soap (adding wildflowers/herbs to oil to create an infusion)
3. Making soap from kitchen items such as Manteca, Tallow, Olive Oil, Sunflower oil, Oatmeal, Local Honey.
(This will be hot processed soap making using a crock pot. Cue music for the Beverly Hillbillies when Granny made soap by the cement pond.)
